The three platforms we deploy most solve the same problem at very different levels of complexity. Picking the heaviest one because it sounds the most "enterprise" is the most common and most expensive mistake we correct. Managed platform, DIY self-hosting, or a hyperscaler?

Running your own servers is dramatically cheaper than a hyperscaler for predictable workloads — that is simply true, and we say so even though it sometimes argues against a bigger engagement. The catch is that someone has to own patching, backups, monitoring and the 2 a.m. incident. A managed platform is the middle path: you keep the cost profile and the data ownership of self-hosting, and we carry the operational burden.
