Does counter billing work when the internet drops?

The counter keeps billing when the connection drops and syncs when it returns, so a queue never waits on the network. It is built to survive outages, not to run offline for days; a store with a poor connection gets a backup link. You can watch a counter sale run on our demo, opening to closing.

Which point-of-sale software do you use at the counter?

ERPNext's own point of sale, set up for your stores, or POS Awesome on top of it where counters need speed and barcode-heavy billing. We also make CounterFlow, our own counter app. Whichever runs the counter, every bill lands in the same stock and the same books, so the choice is about the counter, not the back office.

Does it handle GST across stores in different states?

Yes. Each store or entity can carry its own GSTIN, bills carry the right tax and HSN code, and returns are drawn from the bills themselves. Stock sent to a store in another state raises its own invoice from the same transfer, so nothing is re-keyed for the filing.

Can it handle sizes, colours and barcodes?

Yes. An item can carry variants such as size and colour, each with its own barcode and stock, and labels print when goods come in. The counter scans them; the reorder rules work per variant, so the fast-selling medium in blue reorders while the slow extra-large waits.

We run Tally today. Do we have to leave it?

How long does a retail rollout take?

It depends on stores, items and channels, so you get a written plan after a free call rather than a figure here. Our ERPNext projects went live in 9 to 12 weeks a site in 2026. Retail usually goes store by store: one store and the warehouse first, then the rest once its counter and stock agree.

Can our stores, warehouse and web store share one stock figure?

Yes. In ERPNext each store is a warehouse, so a bill at any counter, a transfer from the warehouse and an order from the web store all move the same stock. The web store runs beside ERPNext and sends its orders in. Head office sees every store's stock and sales on one screen, without anyone sending a spreadsheet.
