07. Cookies, analytics & your choices
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics, advertising and session replay so we can see which pages help you and which do not. The data feeds the editorial calendar, the A/B tests, and the LLM-citation checks that decide what we publish next.
The four categories we set are aligned with the Google Consent Mode v2 spec (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization). On your first visit you will see a banner with four choices:
- Accept all — all four categories are enabled.
- Essential only — all four are disabled; strictly-necessary cookies (auth, session) are still set.
- Nothing — same as Essential only; this label exists for users who want a hard opt-out framing.
- Customise — pick any combination of the four categories.
Default behaviour when you ignore the popup. If you close the popup without choosing, Mithtech’s legal-team-approved default is “all enabled”. The first tracking event after that will fire with the standard gcs signals set to granted. The choice is stored only on this device and you can change it at any time using the button below.
Region-specific behaviour. Visitors geolocated to the EU, UK, Brazil, or Quebec (Law 25) receive the banner by default. The same default-granted posture applies, but the admin team can flip the regional default to “denied” in the OVO analytics global if your region requires opt-in consent. India (DPDP Act 2023) is treated as a logging regime rather than a consent regime; the banner is shown for transparency and the same default applies.
Changing your preferences later. Use the button below to re-open the consent banner at any time. Your new choice overwrites the previous one and is sent to every analytics tag on the next page load via the Google Consent Mode v2 update signal.
