What this flow is

Stock of a material runs low. Someone notices, asks suppliers for prices, compares them and places the order, often by phone and from memory.

Here the requirement is a material request for the item below its reorder level. A request for quotation goes to suppliers, each reply is a supplier quotation that can be compared side by side, and the purchase order is made from the chosen quote.

Screen by screen

Each step is a real ERPNext screen in the demo company. FlowMentor points at what to fill in.

  1. Material Request

The requirement: which item is needed, how many and for which warehouse.

  2. Request for Quotation

The request to suppliers to quote for the items on the material request.

  3. Supplier Quotation

One supplier's prices for the items, recorded so they can be compared with the others.

  4. Purchase Order

The order to the supplier: what you agreed to buy, how many and at what price.

Inside the demo company

Mith Demo Traders, a made-up company that makes and sells kettles and toasters. It isn't GST-registered, so its documents carry no tax.

Steel Kettle Body is below its reorder level, and its material request is made for you; the request for quotation goes to two suppliers, and you record one supplier's quote. No email is sent from the demo, and the supplier portal is in MithUniverse only.

You're signed in as a demo visitor. Nothing is emailed, and what you make is removed 15 minutes after you finish.

A guide on every screen

FlowMentor is our guide app for ERPNext. On each screen it points at the field to fill and the button to press, one step at a time, so you can finish the flow without training. It runs on the real screens, not a video.
