What this flow is

Part of a delivery fails inspection. The bad goods have to go back, and the supplier's bill has to cover only what you kept.

Here the receipt splits each line into accepted and rejected, and the rejects wait in their own warehouse. A return against the receipt sends them back, and the purchase invoice is made for the accepted quantity only.

Screen by screen

Each step is a real ERPNext screen in the demo company. FlowMentor points at what to fill in.

  1. Purchase Receipt

What arrived from the supplier, line by line against the order; accepted goods go into stock.

  2. Purchase Return

The rejected goods going back to the supplier, as a return against the receipt.

  3. Purchase Invoice

The supplier's bill, made from the receipt, so each line matches what was ordered and received.

Inside the demo company

Mith Demo Traders, a made-up company that makes and sells kettles and toasters. It isn't GST-registered, so its documents carry no tax.

5 of the 50 steel bodies failed the check and are already in the Rejected warehouse; you send them back and bill the rest.

You're signed in as a demo visitor. Nothing is emailed, and what you make is removed 15 minutes after you finish.

Who uses it

And what each of them gets from it.

Quality

Records what failed on the receipt itself.

Stores

Keeps rejects apart and sends them back on record.

Accounts

Pays only for what was kept.

A guide on every screen

FlowMentor is our guide app for ERPNext. On each screen it points at the field to fill and the button to press, one step at a time, so you can finish the flow without training. It runs on the real screens, not a video.
