What this flow is

A shop bills customers at the counter all day, in cash, card and UPI, and closes the till at night against the bills.

Here the shift opens with the cash in the drawer, each bill is a sales invoice in POS mode that can be paid in parts, and closing the shift totals the bills and sets expected cash beside counted cash. When it's submitted, the shift's sales post to stock and the books.

Screen by screen

Each step is a real ERPNext screen in the demo company. FlowMentor points at what to fill in.

  1. POS Opening Entry

Open the counter's shift with the cash in the drawer for each way of paying.

  2. Sales Invoice

The bill: what the customer owes for the sale, posted to the books as income when it's submitted.

  3. POS Closing Entry

Close the shift: its bills are totalled, cash expected is set beside cash counted, and the sales post to stock and the books.

Inside the demo company

Mith Demo Traders, a made-up company that makes and sells kettles and toasters. It isn't GST-registered, so its documents carry no tax.

The counter bill for a walk-in customer is made for you as a sales invoice in POS mode; you can also bill on the Point of Sale screen. Working offline is shown in MithUniverse only.

You're signed in as a demo visitor. Nothing is emailed, and what you make is removed 15 minutes after you finish.

FlowMentor is our guide app for ERPNext. On each screen it points at the field to fill and the button to press, one step at a time, so you can finish the flow without training. It runs on the real screens, not a video.
