Every month someone ticks the bank statement against the books, line by line, to find what's paid and what isn't.
Here a statement line is a bank transaction with the amount that came in. It's matched to the customer's payment the way ERPNext's bank reconciliation tool does it, and only the lines that won't match are left for you.
Before and after
| Without it | With it |
|---|---|
| Statements ticked off by hand | Statement lines matched to payments |
| Unmatched items found at year end | Unmatched lines left in view for review |
| Cash position known a day late | Cash updates as documents are saved |
| Bank and books disagree for weeks | They agree as each line is matched |
Each step is a real ERPNext screen in the demo company. FlowMentor points at what to fill in.

Inside the demo company
Mith Demo Traders, a made-up company that makes and sells kettles and toasters. It isn't GST-registered, so its documents carry no tax.
One line of today's statement is ready; you match it to the customer's payment. The statement import is in MithUniverse only.
You're signed in as a demo visitor. Nothing is emailed, and what you make is removed 15 minutes after you finish.
And what each of them gets from it.
Accounts
Matches the statement instead of ticking it.
Finance manager
Sees what's reconciled and what isn't.
Owner
Sees today's cash position.
FlowMentor is our guide app for ERPNext. On each screen it points at the field to fill and the button to press, one step at a time, so you can finish the flow without training. It runs on the real screens, not a video.
The demo shows the plain flow. In a real project we set it up to how you work.
