What this flow is

When you sell work by the hour, the hours have to be recorded against the job and billed, and you need to know which jobs make money.

Here hours are booked on a timesheet against a project task, with what they're worth at the activity's billing rate. The invoice is made from the timesheet, and ERPNext's project profitability report shows what each job earned and cost.

Screen by screen

Each step is a real ERPNext screen in the demo company. FlowMentor points at what to fill in.

  1. Timesheet

Hours booked on a project's task, and what they're worth at the activity's billing rate.

  2. Sales Invoice

The bill: what the customer owes for the sale, posted to the books as income when it's submitted.

Inside the demo company

Mith Demo Traders, a made-up company that makes and sells kettles and toasters. It isn't GST-registered, so its documents carry no tax.

Four hours of installation on the showroom fit‑out project are booked for you; you bill them. The project profitability report is explained on screen.

You're signed in as a demo visitor. Nothing is emailed, and what you make is removed 15 minutes after you finish.
