What this flow is

Some work is done outside: a job worker coats, plates or machines your parts. You send them material, they send back finished goods, and the material has to be accounted for.

Here the purchase order is for the job work, the subcontracting order lists the material you supply from the bill of materials, a stock entry moves it to the job worker's warehouse, and the subcontracting receipt brings the finished parts back, using up what was sent.

Screen by screen

Each step is a real ERPNext screen in the demo company. FlowMentor points at what to fill in.

  1. Purchase Order

The order to the supplier: what you agreed to buy, how many and at what price.

  2. Subcontracting Order

The job-work order: the material you supply to the job worker, worked out from the bill of materials.

  3. Stock Entry

A stock movement: goods issued, moved between warehouses, or used up and made into finished goods, with stock and value updated.

  4. Subcontracting Receipt

The finished work back from the job worker, with the material you supplied used up against it.

Inside the demo company

Mith Demo Traders, a made-up company that makes and sells kettles and toasters. It isn't GST-registered, so its documents carry no tax.

The order for coating 20 steel bodies goes to Satara Coaters; you send the material and receive the coated bodies back. The WhatsApp and SMS messages and the train are in MithUniverse only.

You're signed in as a demo visitor. Nothing is emailed, and what you make is removed 15 minutes after you finish.

A guide on every screen

FlowMentor is our guide app for ERPNext. On each screen it points at the field to fill and the button to press, one step at a time, so you can finish the flow without training. It runs on the real screens, not a video.
