What this flow is

A customer orders something you don't keep in stock, so it has to be made first.

The sales order becomes a work order for the shop floor, with the materials listed from the bill of materials. The parts are issued to the floor, and when it's made a stock entry uses them up and puts the finished goods into stock, valued at what they cost. Sales can see where the order is without asking production.

Screen by screen

Each step is a real ERPNext screen in the demo company. FlowMentor points at what to fill in.

  1. Sales Order

The customer's confirmed order: who it's for, the items at price-list rates and when it's due. The next documents are made from it.

  2. Work Order

The instruction to the shop floor: what to make, how many, and the materials from the bill of materials.

  3. Stock Entry

A stock movement: goods issued, moved between warehouses, or used up and made into finished goods, with stock and value updated.

Inside the demo company

Mith Demo Traders, a made-up company that makes and sells kettles and toasters. It isn't GST-registered, so its documents carry no tax.

The order for 10 Electric Kettles 1.5 L is already confirmed, and the kettle has a bill of materials. You make the work order, issue the parts to Work In Progress, then finish the kettles into stock.

You're signed in as a demo visitor. Nothing is emailed, and what you make is removed 15 minutes after you finish.

A guide on every screen

FlowMentor is our guide app for ERPNext. On each screen it points at the field to fill and the button to press, one step at a time, so you can finish the flow without training. It runs on the real screens, not a video.
