Polemarch (polemarch.in) is one of India's platforms for accessing unlisted and pre-IPO shares. In the first phase of a still-ongoing build, Mith Tech moved Polemarch off a slow WordPress site onto a modern Next.js platform in three months, then launched native investor and partner apps on Flutter in two more. The result: a working platform that runs the full investor journey end to end — from KYC to wallet to live pricing to settlement.

About Polemarch
Polemarch operates in a corner of Indian capital markets that most retail investors never see clearly: unlisted and pre-IPO shares. The market exists — companies raise money privately, employees hold ESOPs, funds recycle their holdings — but access has traditionally been slow, opaque, and broker-heavy. You needed a phone call, a scanned KYC, an over-email negotiation, and a manual settlement to buy a single share. For most people, that friction meant not participating at all.
Polemarch's ambition is to change that: to build the kind of clean, transparent, self-serve interface for unlisted shares that Zerodha and Groww built for listed stocks. Live prices. A wallet you can top up. A KYC that finishes on the app. A buy button that actually works. You can see the current platform in action at polemarch.in.
Mith Tech engages with clients across India and internationally — Polemarch is one of the deeper Indian engagements, and the delivery model (small senior team, remote-first, continuous shipping) works identically for clients in Singapore, the UAE, and beyond.
The starting point
When Polemarch approached us, the platform they had was a WordPress site with a lot of ambition and very little room to grow. The plugin-and-theme foundation had held together for the early months — but it was blocking the business from doing everything it actually needed to do next.
The specific problems, in the founders' own words:
- The site was slow. Page loads on a mobile network were measured in seconds. Every additional plugin added weight. Bounce rates on the pricing pages told the story clearly.
- SEO was flat. The site indexed poorly, structured data was inconsistent across pages, and product/deal pages didn't rank for terms Polemarch's own brand was already competing on.
- KYC was manual. Documents came in over email, went to a spreadsheet, and got verified by hand. An investor who wanted to onboard on a Sunday evening waited until Tuesday afternoon before they could buy anything.
- There was no real wallet. Transactions happened outside the platform. That meant reconciliation work for the ops team, and a broken UX for the customer — nobody wants to log into their bank to complete a purchase they started on a mobile app.
- The mobile experience was a browser. No native app, no notifications, no offline handling, no biometric login. For a platform that wants people trusting it with real money, that's a credibility problem.
Growth was hitting a ceiling that had nothing to do with the market and everything to do with the technology under the business.
What we built
The plan was staged in two phases, both delivered inside five calendar months.
Phase 1 — a new web platform on Next.js (3 months)
We rebuilt the entire site on Next.js. The migration wasn't a lift-and-shift; the information architecture was redesigned from the ground up so it could carry a real product, not a marketing site with dashboards bolted on.
What that shipped as:
- A modern web application with server-rendered pages, edge caching in front of everything, and image optimisation applied by default. Page loads that used to take multiple seconds now render in a fraction of that.
- A rebuilt admin surface so the Polemarch content and deals team can update instruments, prices, banners, editorial content, and legal copy without waiting on engineering.
- SEO the site can actually rank on — a real sitemap, clean canonicals, structured data on deal pages, correct meta hygiene, and a URL structure aligned to how buyers actually search.
- A live pricing engine and live charts for every listed instrument, streamed to the browser so prices update without a refresh.
- A fully automated buying portal — the entire investor journey (browse deal → check price → verify KYC → fund wallet → buy → confirmation) runs inside the platform. No email chains. No offline steps.
Rebuilds this thorough usually get sold as multi-year programs. The reason Polemarch's phase 1 shipped in three months is that we scoped it as a real product with real cutlines — not a wish list. Every "must-have" that would have pushed the timeline out went into phase 2 or later.
Phase 2 — native investor and partner apps on Flutter (2 months)
Once the web platform was live and stable, we shipped two mobile apps built on Flutter, both delivered inside two months:
- The investor app — iOS and Android, one codebase. Biometric login, push notifications on price movements and deal events, in-app KYC flow with camera capture, a live wallet, and the same buy-anywhere flow as the web app.
- The partner and distributor app — for the wealth managers and partners who bring investors onto Polemarch. Their own dashboard, their own client book, their own commission visibility, and their own workflow for onboarding new clients.
Flutter was the right call for a team of four. A single codebase compiled to both iOS and Android meant we didn't have to hire (and coordinate) two separate mobile teams, and the app performance on both platforms is genuinely native — not the "web-view in a wrapper" experience Polemarch had before.
The KYC transformation
The single most-noticed change internally was the KYC flow. Before: an investor emailed documents, ops downloaded and reviewed them, someone in compliance signed off, an account was created manually, and an email went out saying "you're ready to trade". The end-to-end took 24 to 72 hours depending on who was in the office.
After: an investor completes the KYC in the app in a few minutes. Documents are captured directly from the camera, validated against the platform's rules, checked against the required registries, and either cleared or flagged for review. What used to take an ops team a day of clicking now takes a handful of minutes of oversight per applicant.
How the platform is organised
The platform is structured around three layers of interfaces, a set of core business processes at the centre, and a supporting layer of infrastructure and analytics beneath. This is the architectural pattern that survived the rebuild — it's the shape a serious investing platform actually needs to hold.
Customer interfaces — everything a Polemarch investor touches:
- The Next.js web platform at polemarch.in
- Native investor apps on iOS and Android (Flutter)
- An in-platform marketplace for browsing and transacting on unlisted shares
- Communication touchpoints across WhatsApp, email, and Polemarch's public social channels
Employee interfaces — everything the internal Polemarch team uses to run the business:
- A web-based operations console for the ops, compliance, and research teams
- Mobile access for approvals, notifications, and on-the-go workflows
Partner and distributor interfaces — for the wealth managers and referral partners who bring investors on:
- A dedicated partner app on iOS and Android
- Web access for detailed reporting and account management
At the heart of the platform is a set of core business processes that everything else connects to:
- Lead & CRM — every enquiry, click, and application tracked from source to conversion
- Research & analytics — deal-flow analysis, buyer behaviour, market signals
- Deals & transactions — the matching engine that pairs buyers with the right instruments
- KYC & compliance — automated identity and eligibility verification
- Pricing & market data — live prices, indicative NAVs, corporate actions
- Portfolio & holdings — per-investor position tracking with cost basis
- Advisory & recommendations — curated deal flow and personalised suggestions
- Finance & accounting — settlement, reconciliation, and books of record
- Support & service — a proper ticketing workflow for a business that deals in real money
Underneath all of this sits a technical foundation that runs on AWS with Cloudflare in front for edge caching and security. The platform includes real-time dashboards for the operations team, product analytics for the growth team, automation and integrations that connect the pieces, encryption and audit logging on every sensitive path, transactional notifications across web and mobile, and a data storage and backup regime you'd expect from a platform holding financial information.
What changed for Polemarch
The transformation shows up in three places that matter.
In the product. The site is fast. The buying flow works end to end without a human in the loop. The mobile apps are the primary channel for a growing share of active investors — biometric login, push notifications, live prices in a pocket. New instruments go live in minutes when they used to take a day of setup.
In the ops team. The manual work that used to fill up the compliance and support inboxes has largely disappeared. KYC that took days now completes in minutes. Reconciliation that lived in spreadsheets now happens inside the platform. The team can spend its time on the deals and clients that need human judgment, not on chasing documents.
In the pace of the business. Polemarch is now on a continuous delivery cadence with us. Each sprint ships features rather than fixes. New categories of instruments, new partner integrations, new user-facing tools — all going live regularly without needing a "big rebuild" ever again.
Why Polemarch chose Mith Tech
We asked the founders this a few months in. The consistent answer was that they didn't want a vendor and they didn't want a body-shop; they wanted a small, senior team that would understand the business as well as the code. Fintech is unforgiving of teams that don't understand the domain — one KYC bug or one settlement mistake and your users don't come back.
Four engineers, one product lead, and continuous involvement from the Polemarch side meant decisions got made in hours rather than weeks. The trade-offs — which corners to cut for phase 1, which to keep for phase 2 — were made together, not thrown over a wall.
What the Polemarch team says
"We came to Mith Tech with a WordPress site the business had outgrown and a KYC flow that took our ops team days. Three months later we were live on Next.js. The KYC now finishes on the app in minutes. What used to feel like glue and duct-tape is a real platform — and it shows in how our users behave."

Rebuilding a legacy platform or launching something new?
If you're running on a stack that's holding your business back, or you're starting from a clean slate and want a small senior team to build it right, get in touch. We work with a small number of clients at a time — the Polemarch engagement is a good example of what that looks like.
Frequently asked questions
What is Polemarch?
Polemarch is an Indian investing platform focused on unlisted and pre-IPO shares. It lets investors browse available deals, verify their KYC in the app, fund a wallet, and buy directly — the kind of self-serve experience listed markets have but that unlisted markets historically didn't. The platform is live at polemarch.in and available as native iOS and Android apps.
What tech stack does Polemarch use?
The web platform is built on Next.js, chosen for speed, SEO, and modern developer velocity. The native mobile apps are built with Flutter — one codebase across iOS and Android with genuinely native performance. Infrastructure runs on AWS with Cloudflare providing edge caching and security. Beyond that, the backend and data-layer choices are proprietary to the Polemarch build and stay with the client.
How long did the Polemarch rebuild take?
Phase 1 — the full move from WordPress to Next.js, including the new admin surface, the live pricing engine, automated KYC, and the automated buying flow — was delivered in three months. Phase 2 — the native investor and partner apps on Flutter — was delivered in two months after that. The engagement is ongoing; new features ship on a continuous cadence.
How large is the Mith Tech team on the Polemarch project?
Four engineers, plus product and design. That team size was deliberate — small enough to move at real speed, senior enough that every person on the project can own end-to-end delivery of a feature. Fintech doesn't work with large, junior teams; too many decisions get made in the wrong direction.
Can Mith Tech build a similar platform for another fintech company?
Yes. The Polemarch engagement is a good template for how we work — a full rebuild scoped realistically, delivered in phases, with the same team that built it staying on to ship what comes next. If you're building an investing, lending, wealth or capital-markets platform and want to see what a serious rebuild looks like on modern foundations, get in touch.
Are the Polemarch mobile apps built with React Native or Flutter?
Flutter. For a four-person team supporting both iOS and Android, Flutter gave us one codebase that compiles to genuinely native performance on both platforms — the alternative would have been building the same app twice or accepting the trade-offs of a bridge-based framework. On the investor and partner apps, Flutter has held up exactly as expected: smooth animations, native gestures, and no perceptible difference between the two platforms in production.
