From Leave Application to Leave Ledger, on the real Frappe HR screens of a demo company, with a guide on each step.
Leave Application
A request for leave: which kind, the first and last day, and the balance before it.

Leave is asked for by message or on paper, managers approve from memory, and payroll finds out at month end.
Here the employee applies for leave with the dates and sees the balance first, the manager approves it, and the leave ledger shows how each balance was reached, so payroll works from the same record.
Before and after
| Without it | With it |
|---|---|
| Leave asked for by message | A leave application with dates |
| Balances kept in a spreadsheet | The balance shown before applying |
| Approvals lost in chats | The approver acts on the application |
| Payroll hears late | Approved leave is on the ledger payroll uses |
Each step is a real Frappe HR screen in the demo company. FlowMentor points at what to fill in.
Leave Application
A request for leave: which kind, the first and last day, and the balance before it.
Leave Ledger
Every leave allocation and approved leave in one ledger, showing how the balance was reached.
Inside the demo company
Mith Demo Traders, a made-up company that makes and sells kettles and toasters. It isn't GST-registered, so its documents carry no tax.
You're a demo employee applying for two days of casual leave; approval is explained on screen, since your manager approves it, not you. The ledger shows your allocation and an earlier approved leave.
You're signed in as a demo visitor. Nothing is emailed, and what you make is removed 15 minutes after you finish.
And what each of them gets from it.
Employees
Apply from the phone and see what's left.
Managers
Approve on theirs.
HR and payroll
Have every balance and approved day on record.
FlowMentor is our guide app for ERPNext. On each screen it points at the field to fill and the button to press, one step at a time, so you can finish the flow without training. It runs on the real screens, not a video.
The demo shows the plain flow. In a real project we set it up to how you work.
